During the applied design i found this typographer Seb Lester. His work instantly caught my eye. I love how front he text theres so much spark and without a image or anything it can keep you amazed and really focusing on a piece of his work analysing ever last detail.
Clara Fernandez is an editorial designer whose text placement is something i really like. i Plan to implement some of her text kind of style into my editorial work. I really like the simplicity yet awkwardness you feel from where she places the type. Although it works really well i get a very awkward off feel when looking at it and i think that is what entices me to her work.
Gone from such a simple app on the iPhone to something people used daily for many things. And now into a its very own social sharing camera. Its amazing to see such a simple thing take change and not only that the camera looks amazing.
Look at this creative camera concept. ADR-Studiocreated this Instagram Camera Concept in the typical app design, with Apple technology and the functionality of a polaroid camera. The camer has a memory of 16 GB, Wifi and Bluetooth, a 4:3 Touchscreen, 2 lenses, optical zoom, webcam applications and QR code capturing, an internal printer, paper cartridge with Instagram paper, LED flash, and many more…
So for out context making connections essay we had to produce a poster and i had many ideas but the simplicity of this one stoodd out to me and ended up being my final piece.
Just found this Blog of all things from the 90’s.. Definitely safe to say it brought back a lot of old memories.

These are the covers i produced for the editorial brief. Some were done to match my double page spreads others just following rough sketches I’ve kept in my work throughout. I really like all the outcomes But the two that stood out to me are the green one and the blue one there both just very eye catching in my opinion.
So these are my two final editorial double page spreads. I like both outcomes a lot, however i was unsure as to which one i preferred after asking people i receive a mixed answer. So I’m still unsure as to which is my favourite.
Robert Harling (Typographer). Harlings work is very bold and limited colour wise but still stands out an awful lot i really like his style and the contrast in his work.
I chose some of my favourites and refined them from the very rough drafts to final sketches.
Our next brief was to create 2 double page spreads either using the abstracted letterforms from design skills or creating new ones. I used a few of my favourite letterforms and threw in some news ones but here a few of my initial sketches.
